To Chinatown - 2nd Jan 2007

More pics of Times Square & the NYC library. Can't believe we've been here for 10 days and we're now on the move to Chinatown. Not far, you say? Having searched for coach tours to cities beyond NYC, we decided it was better to move to Chinatown to be as near as we could to the major coach pickup point.
We were frustrated by the lack of tours and suitable dates by major lines. Heard tours being run out of Chinatown and good recommendations from DH's relatives. The fact that the tours were conducted in Mandarin did concern us as we're not at all fluent. However, we were told that most tour guides wld speak English as well.
Checked out of Milford and down to Solita Soho hotel.
Luxurious apptments compared to Milford but if you think Milford rooms are small, this place is even smaller. Very cosy and internet access free - quite happy even though our luggage (4 suitcases, 1 large roller and 4 day packs) made it quite impossible to move in the room.
We squeezed all this in this day as well - Had yum cha lunch at Golden Unicorn. Just brilliant!
Visited friends on 6th ave at their office, bought souvenir T-shirts (great place in Times Square - only $10 per tshirt for the NYPD, FDNY licensed Ts)
Had dinner in Little Italy - yum yum yum!
